Repentance Isn’t Up to the “Victim” [FB Post 5.2017]

Repentance Isn’t Up to the “Victim” [FB Post 5.2017]

The thing about repentance is that it’s not up to the “victim” but the Savior. He gives it if the offender asks (John 14: 14). The “victim’s” response doesn’t dictate the offender’s forgiveness. We must be careful of the rights we give flesh. We are all in need of a Savior: “victim” and “offender”

Isaiah 30: 15 In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength (NIV).

We are not the Forgotten Child of God [FB Post 5.2017]

We are not the Forgotten Child of God [FB Post 5.2017]

We are not the forgotten child of God-

If you are a follower of Christ, God is not going to allow something to happen to you unless it’s for your good. The thing about His sovereignty is He has the ability to work it for your good and for the good of others… one Christ-follower isn’t suffering for the sake of someone else. The only suffering that needed to happen like that was what Jesus did. He is going to work this for the good of everyone involved. God is miraculous and mysterious like that. It’s a beautiful surrender when we just accept that we may not understand how it’s possible but watch Him unfold it in His perfect timing.

Scour the Scriptures for yourself:
Romans 8:28
1 Corinthians 15:3
Ecclesiastes 3:11
Isaiah 55:8

God’s Goodness Doesn’t Always Have “all the feels” [FB POST 5.2017]

God’s Goodness Doesn’t Always Have “all the feels” [FB POST 5.2017]

If we are the kind who base God’s goodness off circumstances that feel good, we are most often the kind to doubt his goodness in the face of that which doesn’t.

Healthy kids, restored friendships, a clean scan are all God’s goodness but so are seasons of sifting, pruning, mourning.

God’s goodness is the lasting fruit that is produced in our life- love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control- not always the things that give us “all the feels”.

Seek & know for yourself:
John 15
Galatians 5: 22-26
Matthew 5: 4
Luke 22: 31-34

Quotes, Scripture, & Reflections from Beth Moore

img_7418

“There comes a time to get your own Bible out & shout to the rest of the world at the top of your lungs, ‘Everybody who’s not Jesus shut up.’ ” Hebrews 12:2, Mark 10:27, Luke 18:27

“The thing about playing it safe is that it’s just, well, playing. And the devil ain’t playing. Quit hiding. You were meant to be mighty.” Ephesians 6 is blatant. There is nothing wussy about being a Christian. If we believe John 10:10 is true, this should change our life, our focus, our reality.

“My deep hope for the church is that many of us will now go into recovery & break our fierce addiction to the vitriol we’ve used like Vicodin.” wisdom (Proberbs 2:6) and rest (Isaiah 30:15) are from God. We are a people wildly distracted from his truth, and our arrogance breathes the lie that “maybe this isn’t completely true”…enter in doubt that God alone is all we need.

“Never think for a moment wrestling with God is not a form of intimacy. You can fight without one on one contact but wrestling requires touch” look at Jacob’s wrestle with God, in Genesis 32, and see what intimacy came from it for Jacob.

“You cannot fix people. You cannot force them to do what you think is right. Give it up at least for today. Let Jesus run His own world.” the arrogance that is mine, likes to think other wise. Jeremiah 24:7

Go to Jesus,

Maria
